Adobe E-Seminar: Building Adobe AIR Applications with Flash CS3

Josh and I will be speaking about Adobe AIR (the runtime formerly known as Apollo) on July 18th at 1PM EST.

Here’s the details:

Building Adobe Integrated Runtime (AIR) applications with Flash CS3 Joshua Hirsch, Minister of Technology, Big Spaceship and Jamie Kosoy, Senior Developer, Big Spaceship.

With the release of Flash CS3, developers now have an alternative to FlexBuilder for building and deploying applications for Adobe AIR, the exciting new desktop runtime environment from Adobe.

Topics will include:

  • setting up Flash for creating AIR applications
  • step by step through the workflow of building apps in Flash
  • AIR Actionscript API
  • tips and tricks

    I have an AIR question that is slightly off-topic of the e-seminar but I have to believe is something you all have thought about to some degree. Any chance you could chime in w/your thoughts to the following?

    “…Has Big Spaceship used any of the already-existing 3rd party Flash compiler apps that do the same thing (like Northcode SwfStudio, etc)? If so, what are the main advantages of AIR compared to those tools to win over companies (like mine) who are already doing this sort of thing with the 3rd party tools.”
