eSeminar March 25th on AIR

I will be a part of Adobe’s Developer Week 2008. The topic of choice? Adobe AIR and Flash CS3 once again. The session is on Tuesday, March 25th from 1PM - 2PM PST (that’s 4PM - 5PM EST).

Building for Adobe AIR in Flash CS3
You don’t need to know Flex to build Adobe AIR applications. The Adobe AIR Plugin for Flash CS3 affords those comfortable working in Flash the opportunity to create compelling content for the desktop. In this seminar, we’ll go through installing and building a simple application, including demonstrating some of the new powers bestowed to developers.

Sign up! It’s free, doesn’t require airfare or hotel accommodations and you get to hear my pretty voice.

  1. It would be great to have a session on Drag & Drop back & forth between Flash and HTML and how to listen for different data types.

It’s amazing to think where AIR could go. I’ve used Flash Jester and Zinc. Now imagine all those classes and libraries from those two products available via AIR! Can you update your code for your AIR game on the Adobe site? The AIR file is out-of-sync with the new AIR player.

…and check out this virtural photo shoot I did for DRAFTFCB for Taco Bell: http://www.directdaniella.com. Enjoy!

  2. Kurt,

I might be able to speak a bit to the drag & drop in my session, time permitting. If not, I’ll post a blog entry about it here at some point.

I’ll update the AIR game ASAP. My computer seems to have some strange hybrid of AIR beta 3 and AIR 1.0, so I don’t get the “this file is outdated” error.

None of the code has changed, though I would say some of the methods I use are already a bit dated.
