Back in Black

We restored the darkness of labs and learned a lot about Chyrp themes in the process. Please add a comment if anyone sees anything visually screwy anywhere. We had a few mysterious issues with installing multiple Chyrp instances in different subdomains on the same server, mostly related to file permissions, but they were easily resolved. Anyone interested in the details can check Stephen’s post in the Chyrp forum.

  2. We were using WordPress before, which is a bloated slow mess. We recently discovered Chyrp and were attracted to the simplicity and flexibility, especially because our blogs are pretty straightforward. We are currently in the process of changing hosting for all of our sites, so thought it was a good opportunity to give Chyrp a spin on a new server, instead of moving all the WordPress blogs. So far, we are very happy with it.

  3. yeah i’ve been meaning to take a look at chryp have you taken a look at symphony? it’s not bad. did your servers honestly take a hit using wordpress i would be interested to know?

wordpress is a lot less flexible than some other systems and often involves hacking to get what you want done. but it is a mature platform and thus well established.

  4. Chyrp looks good from what I can see from the work you have done to this site. It loads fast. You running on shared host here?

Anyway, the stats panel on the right hand column is not showing anything. If that is screwy to you.
